CFPB report suggests remittance transfer history offers little value for credit score -
Lexology - BuckleySandler LLP - On July 3, the CFPB published a report on its study of the use of remittance histories in credit scoring, which found that (i) remittance histories have little predictive value for credit scoring purposes, and (ii) remittance histories are unlikely to improve the credit scores of consumers who send remittance transfers.

Request for Comment - you have 60 days....
"The proposal requests comment on whether a safe harbor should be adopted with respect to the phrase “normal course of business” in the definition of “remittance transfer provider.” This definition determines whether a person is covered by the rule. The proposal also requests   comment on several aspects of the final rule regarding remittance transfers that are scheduled in advance, including preauthorized remittance transfers."

Page 6 - “In most cases, even those participants who wanted more pre-transaction information said that when sending money they generally already know in advance what fee they will be charged, and could get additional information from the agent orally if necessary.”
Page 7 - “…asked how useful that information would be to them. Most participants cited limitations or obstacles to the usefulness of such a posting….”
